Why Every Woman Needs a Girl Gang
In every rom com, drama, and chick flick, there’s a Girl Gang. According to my own version of the dictionary a “Girl Gang” is defined as a group of 2 or more girls who hang out, share secrets, talk about boys, cry together, and are always there for each other. Girl gangs come in all shapes and sizes and stages of life. Some girl gangs last for a few months and some girl gangs last a life time!
Since I was super little, I’ve always dreamed of what my girl gang would look like, but it wasn’t until I was in high school that I found my first Girl Gang! I had had plenty of friends before then, but nothing like the girl gang that I had always dreamed up in my head. Throughout elementary school, all of my friends were boys or twice my age. In middle school the trend of all male friends continued. I added a few girl friends, but those girl friends were more of “let’s talk about our day” friends than they were “let’s share our secrets and make inside jokes” friends. You know the difference. When I got to high school I was determined to fit into this clique of girls that I had known of since elementary school, but if you’ve ever watched a chick flick before, you know that forcing your way into a group never really works (think “Stick to the Status Quo” from High School Musical). Right when I was getting frustrated with not fitting in, God dropped a present right in my lap, well actually he just opened my eyes to some presents that had been there for years. My girl gang had formed, and it was everything I had dreamed of: group messages with stupid names and constant jokes, random dinner dates, sleep overs and movie nights, and talking about literally everything. People always joke that teenage girls are always looking out for their future husband, but I was looking for my future bridesmaids, and I sure did find them. Since junior year, these girls have been my go to, and the Lord has blessed me so much with these amazing girls. Going off to college, in different directions than every girl in my gang, I was so scared that I’d find myself back in that middle school rut of searching for a girl gang, but boy did the Lord have other plans. Not only have I maintained the connections with my high school girl gang, but I have also been blessed with an entire other group of girls at school who are the perfect girl gang. My girl gangs are my people, my go-tos, my perfect chick flick gal pals.

I hope that all of you will keep reading, but here’s what I want this last part to be about. If you’re a 1, stick around to giggle about why I love my girl gang. If you’re a 2, keep on reading to find out what you should really be looking for in a girl gang, and know they are out there. And if you’re a 3, I’m sorry that this is all about my girls, send this to a girl in your life who you think can relate. It will probably totally make her day!! And without further ado
